Glucose-Related Rapid Autolysis (Pulpy Kidneys)

A diffusely enlarged, extremely soft and mushy cortex,

Essentially normal medulla. Pale, enlarged, soft, mushy cortical parenchyma.

Possible causes:

 *autolysis in association with excess glucose in the kidney

*enterotoxemia and the gluconeogenesis associated diseases in cattle and sheep,

*diabetes and glucosuria in any animal
